Deloitte Data Leak BreachForums IntelBroker

The notorious BreachForums-associate threat actor, IntelBroker, has claimed responsibility for the recent Deloitte data leak.

According to our iZOOlogic researchers, the threat actor is responsible for leaking data owned by one of the leading auditing firms globally. However, our researchers explained that the threat actors have only released the leaked data types and did not provide details regarding the size of the overall stolen data.

This group has a history of posting sensitive data from prominent organisations, making it a significant threat to various industries. Their past actions include leaks from companies such as AT&T, Apple, and AMD, showing its sophisticated tactic that even some of the most prominent sectors have fallen victim to their attacks.

Our iZOOlogic researchers explained that IntelBroker allegedly leaked sensitive data owned by Deloitte.

Our research team at iZOOlogic noticed in a recent post on BreachForums that IntelBroker had compromised the Deloitte database. Moreover, our researchers confirmed that the attackers leaked the purported stolen data, which includes email addresses, internal settings, and communications between intranet users.

This compromised data could inflict significant consequences on the potentially affected account owners since it exposed internal strategies and sensitive correspondence. In addition, the email addresses included in the leak may be susceptible to targeted phishing attacks or other malicious activities.

IntelBroker’s track record of leaking sensitive information may add credibility to this new claim involving the exposed Deloitte data. In July, they leaked a large portion of AT&T’s database, exposing customer and internal information. A month prior, they had also targeted Apple, leaking internal tools, which raised security concerns across the company. On the other hand, their latest campaign occurred last month after breaching AMD’s internal communications, potentially impacting product development and competitive strategies.

Our iZOOlogic researchers urge organisations to remain highly alert, especially those handling sensitive internal communications and proprietary systems. Proactive methods should be executed to enhance network monitoring, strengthen authentication processes, and review internal communication protocols.

IntelBroker’s reputation for targeting specific industries, such as tech, telecoms, and critical infrastructure, suggests that these entities should be wary of its activities.
