Medical device manufacturer Masimo Corporation has confirmed it is dealing with the fallout of a cyberattack that has disrupted its manufacturing operations and delayed customer order fulfilment.

The California-based company, known for its advanced non-invasive monitoring products such as pulse oximeters, brain function monitors, and remote patient monitoring platforms, disclosed the cyberattack in a regulatory filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The incident occurred on April 27, 2025, and has significantly affected the company’s ability to maintain normal business operations.

According to the Form 8-K filing, the cyberattack targeted Masimo’s on-premise systems.

The company was forced to isolate impacted parts of its network to prevent further damage. Fortunately, Masimo has reported that its cloud-based infrastructure remains unaffected by the breach. The company has engaged external cybersecurity experts and informed law enforcement authorities as part of its ongoing response.

Due to the incident, some of the company’s manufacturing facilities have been operating below normal capacity, temporarily affecting its ability to process, fulfil, and ship customer orders on time.

Masimo, which employs around 3,600 people globally and reported $2.1 billion in revenue in 2024, is actively working to restore normal operations. Currently, it remains unclear whether customer data was compromised or if the incident will significantly affect the company’s financial results for this quarter. An active investigation is ongoing to assess the full scale and impact of the breach.

No ransomware group has come forward to claim responsibility for the cyberattack, and Masimo has yet to disclose the specific nature or method used in the breach. The company’s focus remains on restoring services and mitigating any further risks.

The situation has highlighted once again how vulnerable even well-established and technologically advanced companies can be to cybersecurity threats. As cyberattacks become increasingly large-scale and sophisticated, Masimo’s incident stresses the critical need for strong and resilient digital security measures.

Masimo continues to provide updates as more information becomes available and has reassured its stakeholders that restoring operational continuity is its highest priority.
