The R00TK1T group announced that they will attack DELL

Yesterday, one of our iZOOlogic researchers spotted the ROOTK1T group posting a cryptic message about their plans to attack DELL on their Telegram channel.

R00TK1T, notorious for its sophisticated techniques and straightforward proclamations, intends to orchestrate a cyberattack on DELL, one of the world’s largest technology companies. The announcement raised concern in the cybersecurity community. According to the post, the hacking group claimed that the targeted entity should prepare as they will infiltrate its systems, expose vulnerabilities, and cause massive compromise on its infrastructure.

In addition, yesterday’s announcement revealed that the group has ‘meticulously’ planned this operation so they would not leave anything unaffected. The group’s advisory also announced that their attack will remind DELL of the importance of robust cybersecurity measures.

This screenshot has proven the reputation of posting bold claims without further verification. The screenshot also included a message where the threat actors explained that they had already breached DELL’s systems and would leave a trail of chaos while compromising the infrastructure.

Furthermore, these hackers stated they have accessed most of DELL’s sensitive data since they have the skills and determination to punish the company’s incompetent cybersecurity measures. The post ended with the group saying they would expose the company’s vulnerabilities so the world could see these weaknesses.
