US Military Intelligence Data Leak Ukraine Russia Attacks Compromised Data

The Pentagon has been scrambling to identify the source of the military intel leak that could have a massive effect on Ukraine’s offensive plans against the Russian militia. Based on reports, some of the leaks have been available on Discord and Telegram as early as January this year.

The current United States administration has executed a cross-government panel to evaluate the incident’s damage. On the other hand, the Department of Justice has initiated an investigation to identify the source of the data leak.

The database within the military intel leak allegedly includes detailed instructions on how to counter Russia’s attacks.

According to investigations, the documents within the military intel leak could contain important strategic use that could be beneficial in addressing the might of the Russian military. It could have included the precise number of armour and artillery the Ukrainian army possess, its state air defences, and missile battery locations.

Some reports also showed that within the leak, data were assembled by the leaker into a briefing packet owned by the Joint Staff’s intelligence arsenal. Others also include marks that describe how the defence intelligence gathered the military information.

Wiretapping is one of the methods by which the armed forces gather intelligence. The execution showed the significance of data privacy in protecting such critical data.

However, some sources revealed that some documents had undergone alterations before reaching Telegram. Experts claimed that the manipulators wanted to increase the casualties in Ukraine and decrease them in Russia.

The military intel leak has massively affected both countries, but the United States could also suffer a backlash from its allied countries because of the data exposure. Furthermore, the leak has also affected France and England since it contains how many special forces operatives they own, which currently train Ukrainian troops.

Officials claim the leaks might be caused by a notorious former NSA contractor and US whistleblower living in Russia. A leaker exposed the latest data sets in social media, while some parsed files reached some media outlets.
